Case Study - Meadowlands Xmas Upgrade + Grotto
A Christmas to remember at Meadowland Shopping Plaza
During the 2024 holiday shopping season, Meadowland Shopping Plaza (Howick) welcomed Santa Claus in a grand arrival by firetruck to open its new Santa grotto and decorations.
The setup featured fully refurbished decorations and a striking 9-foot Christmas tree, creating a refreshed and engaging holiday atmosphere for shoppers, store owners, and families.
The redesign and installation were commissioned to Auckland Christmas Decorators in partnership with the mall’s creative collaborator, Ideology—a local video and marketing agency.
With cost-effectiveness as a key priority, as seen in many malls across New Zealand, the project focused on refurbishing existing decorations wherever possible. Additionally, the team designed and built the Santa’s Grotto Photo Booth for hire, along with the centerpiece Christmas tree displayed at the mall’s main entrance.
